When I try to add
my blog, the page goes blank. Did it go through?
This is a strange bug that we see happening usually when your trying to add an
image from a wordpress theme folder. Leaving the image field empty or uploading
your banner elsewhere and using a new (shorter) URL usually does the trick. This
work around is pretty easy but an extra step. Head over to tinypic.com
(or any free image server) and upload it there to get a new URL. This URL is
generally much shorter too, which may be the cause of the problem.

How do I update my
vote code (Since the site move 9/19/2009 away from PoshLittle.Com)?
Since the site move on 9/20/2009, there are few changes to your
voting code. We kept the structure the same but now the files are no long on PoshLittle.Com
so ALL members have to
update their voting codes/links/banners on their blogs! We made it as
easy as possible though. All you have to do is change the domain name of PoshLittle.Com
to TopBabyBlogs.Com. So every time you see poshlittle.Com in your
code, just replace it with topbabyblogs.com leaving the rest of the URL in tact.
For example if your voting code looks like this:
http://www.poshlittle.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=myusername
Change the highlighted part to topbabyblogs.com so it looks like
this:
http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=myusername
Only the domain name has changed so that's the only portion to
change. You need to change this in the vote link and also for any
banners or you will have broken images on your site & any votes using the
PoshLittle.Com codes, will not be counted! If you don't feel
comfortable making this change manually, just log in above and use the drop down
menu to "get links and banners" to grab the updated codes.

I just signed
up. where's My Blog?
Because
the site updates hourly, you will not see your blog's listing or an accurate
vote count until after the next update. The next scheduled update time is shown on the lower right corner
of every of ranking page (PST). You may have to wait up to 60 minutes before
your blog will appear if your blog has received the number of minimum
required votes (which varies from 1-3 unique votes).
Also, this a
niche blog directory specifically for baby related blogs! So if you signed up a
site that isn't a blog (like an ecommerce site) or we feel is it's a blog that
is inappropriate for Top Baby Blogs your account may have removed.

My blog was
There and now it is gone!
Most likely,
the site was reset recently (see the next FAQ for more on
resets).
If you signed up prior to 9/09, please also see FAQ
#1 as our site move may have affected your
account.
If there doesn't have appeared to be a reset recently, please
review the rules to make sure your blog wasn't
breaking any of the rules and got suspended! If your site isn't a blog, found
cheating (our cheat log records multiple clicks, proxy votes and other cheating
methods), is breaking any of the rules or is
flat out inappropriate, it is
removed with out notice and blacklisted.
If we visited your blog and couldn't find a voting badge or link
ON YOUR BLOG, your account may be suspended or your votes in cleared. You will want to make sure that you have added a
correct reciprocal link in your account information so we know exactly where to
look for it and not suspend/clear your account unfairly. The reciprocal link is a
page, on your blog, where we can check that you have your voting banner in
place. You can add your voting badge/link to other sites and promote it other
places besides your blog but, as a rule, you must display the linking banner on your blog
to qualify.

Why
Does The Site Reset?

The list resets all members
stats back to zero a few times a year to purge inactive blogs and give new blogs
a shot on the first page. So, yours and all the
other sites start over and will appear on the list again once you get the
minimum number of required hits again.
"But my blog was doing so good. I don't want to have to
start over!!" We understand and know your blog will do even better with
these anti-cheating and cleansing standards. If your blog was doing well before,
it will continue to do well! Resetting the list really is a good thing for
everyone. Not only does it purge non-participating blogs (like blogs that have
removed the voting code or are dead) it encourages new members to join. In order
for the list to grow and in turn, your blog get more traffic back, new
members being able to have a shot at the home page is crucial. If the #1 spot
has 3,000 hits in, new members will know that they will never get beyond page 10
and will not join. Also, since dead or non-participating blogs are removed, only
active and vote earning sites will get rewarded with visitors. Sites like this
that don't reset or they let anyone be on the list (with out even a single vote) are
not going to be beneficial to you.

I am
Getting Errors When I Add/Update my
banner

Here
are the three possible image error
message you may receive:
-
The supplied banner has a file size
larger than we allow..
This means your graphic is too large (weight not dimension). You can try to optimize
your graphic or try a different format (gifs are usually the lightest)
to bring the file size down.
-
The supplied banner is either too wide
or too tall
The max size banner you can add is 125 X 125 px (as seen on your
right). If your graphic's dimensions are any larger than that, sorry, it
won't be accepted. You will have to add a smaller graphic.
-
The supplied banner is not a valid
image.
There is something wrong your banner URL/link. Either the link isn't
ending in jpg, gif or png (the allowed file types) or it is broken for some
other reason. You should be able to view your graphic in a browser window
(like you are visiting any web page) and see your graphic all by itself. If
anything else shows up on the page at all, then that is not the direct link
to your banner (often the case when you are using a free image host that
offers several linking options).
The three error messages above are common for people and
the error system is very accurate about reporting the proper error. Every time a
member has emailed about these three error messages, the error messages were
correct and the images have either been to heavy, to big or people aren't adding
a proper image URL (as the error message states)! Please take the error message
as correct and double check your images/urls because we will most likely tell
you that the same thing as the error message is telling you. If
your do need to contact us about an image errors, please make sure you:
-
Attach the image (not to add it for you but will check it's
dimensions/weight)
-
Give us the exact error message
-
Give the URL that you were trying to use and any other
details that may be important.

What Is A Banner Link?

A banner link or URL is the link to your banner on your server (for example if
you have uploaded it to your blog).
For this system, it is not "uploaded" from your computer but retrieved
from your server. To get your banner link (from a current web
page that shows your banner):
-
Internet Explorer - Right click on the image and select
'Properties' & copy the 'Address/URL' link shown
-
Firefox - Right click on the image and select 'Properties'
& copy the 'Location' link under 'Image Properties'
-
Safari - Right click on the image and click 'Copy Image
Address'

I Don't Have A 125 x 125 px
banner. I need one!
That's
OK, the banner is optional! So you don't have to
add one to participate. Here is a list of some possible web designers if you
are interested having some graphics made or for a $5 fee, we will create and add
a 125 x 125 px screenshot to your listing.

|
Sample Screenshot:
A screenshot is a snapshot of what your site looks like. This is not an
advertising banner or include any additional graphics and/or text but will
have a 2px brown border as pictured above.
